So I would like to ask for the correct answer.
They are bringing the R35 to the U.S. and its for sure.
W/ v6tt platform pulling around 400 ponies.
I can't wait, I think I like the new look personally
even though r34 is my dream car.

Well, what's your question?

You didn't ask anything, but if you're talking about the specs you listed, those are the latest rumors for now.

Yes, Carlos Ghosn has actually said that the GT-R would be coming. The funny thing is, the British are clamoring for the 350Z the way we are for the GT-R. They'll get the Z later as an '04 model, I think.

Man, how I wish I could be British creaming for 350z and be able to get a skyline. haha. Did they also say when it would be coming to the states???

I've heard it might be as late as '06. The same magazine(Car, from the UK) said that there would be a faster Z in '05. There's a chance that the faster Z will be a prelude to the GT-R.

2006?!?! daz like far from now  I want it now kekeke.
The faster 350z...is it gonna be blown???
This is getting soooo interesting.
350z, rx8, evo, sti, skyline, this is gonna be insane.
But I've heard that the skyline will be lot more expensive than
most of the imports that are coming in to the states rite now w/ price range of around 30g. Is that true???

Don't forget about the so called talks of bringing back the
Rotary Xperiment-7 (RX-7)
As you may know, it is literaly m-possible to bring the Spirit R to the states.

Despite my love for the Rotary Power, I do realize the Nissan SKyline is the best and will continue to be the best.

Not to mention the possiblity of Toyota's next xxxxGT It the possible replacement to the Supra.
I think the price on the new GT-R will be about 60. The already have the "Skyline" here in the form of the G35 and it comes is around 30-35.

The price of the new GT-R from what I have heard is going to be $70k-$80k. Thats beilievable too. I heard a 350Z Turbo was coming. The new Toyota GT is the likely Supra replacemnet and soon the WRX STI and Evo. 8 will go head to head in the US. I hope the old GT-R's go down in price once the new GT-R comes out because I like them better.

considering that the "r35" as you call it is already here in the g35 cars...

please keep in mind that the gt-r is only the top of the line, with a full line of models underneath it. not all turbo, nor all carrying the rb26 motor.

so, you're asking if the gt-r version is coming, and yeah... it will...

Yeah it will come but like I said with a $70k-$80k price tag I doubt it will sell as well as it did in Japan. I hope when the new GT-R comes out the old GT-R's will drop in price so I could maybe consider getting one in real life

not true

The new GT-R will be marketed as a GT-R NOT a skyline GT-R and as a result is not in the same model range anymore

i am right in stating that it's the top of the line, yeah, it'll be the gt-r only, with a different body, but just like the others, r32/33/34, it'll be based on the same car.

i think we're on the same wavelength...

The thing is, since the Skyline and GT-R marques will be separated, it would be reasonable to assume that the GT-R will be called the R35. The new Skyline recieved the designation of V35.

I can't see the GTR being designated as an R3_ anymore as they (Nissan) seem to base it off the engine that is in the car.

Flywsi - Not so sure about the same base as they are trying to market them as completey sperate. An so far it looks like the R will be based more on the 350Z than the existing model skylines, but hey who really knows what is going through the designers heads at Nissan:rolleyes:

It doesn't seem like Nissan does that with any of their other cars. The Maxima/Cefiro for example, has the A3_ designation, and has used VGs, VEs, VQs, and RB engines. The more recent Zs have used VGs and now the VQ. The engines used had nothing to do with their designation.

i'm not surprised that the gt-r would be based on the 350z, but the current "skyline"/g35 is based on that as well, so it's not too far off the mark...

Yeah, the Skyline/G35 sedan is the V35("V" designation is new for the sedan), the Fairlady Z/350Z is the Z33(still uses the "Z" designation), and the GT-R will probably be the R35(continuation of "R" designation?).

They're all based on the same platform. The Skyline Coupe/G35 Coupe is on the FM platform as well, but I don't know what the chassis designation is.
The rumored next Silvia could be based on the FM platform as well, and will no doubt still be called the S16.
