2000 explorer, no blinkers, no high beam HELP!!!!!!!!

i just bought a 2000 ford explorer, nice little truck.. but..problem, it has no blinkers... nothing.. no noise.. no green arrows on dash...also .. if i turm my lights on ..and push the blinker arm forward..to turn high beams on, the lights that are on..white head lights go out.. no high beam indicater goes on..nothing.. then i pull it back, and lights go back on..no high beam... need help...

You've posted basically the same question here as well as on the "99 explorer, turn signals..." thread. Since you provide a bit more detail here, I'll respond here and suggest the forum moderator delete your other post.
Have you taken any measurments to determine if the high beams are getting voltage? It is possible that both filaments for high beam are burned out.
Also, if you turn on the hazard flashers, do they work? Cycle the hazard switch a few times and try the turn signals again with the key in the Run position. Sometimes the multifunction switch gets dirty and a few cycles of the hazard switch will get the signals working again.

hi rod,
thanks for a quick response.... i fee like a moron..i had no radio when i bought it... did not have a manual..so did not know which fuse was wich..so i pulled a fuse..fixed radio...well you know the rest... there was no fuse..:screwy: also .. on the turn signals.. i pulled the cover off the colum.. and the plug for the signals..the tab was broken ..so when you put the wheel up..tilt wheel.. it would come out.. all fixed...thanks again... :p

Congratulations on the fixes, and thanks for the follow-up post. Did you make any progress on the high beam issue? Did finding the loose connection fix that as well?
