87 Cabriolet Charging Problems.

Hello. My wife was driving our 1987 cabriolet and the alternator seized up melted the belt in two. drove it on home. so i took the alternator out went down got new and a new belt. put it back in fired it up. and everything seemed good. next day the wife got in went to work. called at lunch. battery was dead. went out jumped it she drove it home. she said it was charging and i checked the voltage on the battery it was reading 14.5+. next day same thing. the battery was old so i replaced it. fired up checked the voltage to the battery 14.5+. everything check out and today she started the car backed out the driveway and it done it again. cars dead battery drained. anyone have any ideas. before the first Alt seized up everything was fine. I just can't figure this one out. any Help would be nice.

When the ALT seized, did the harness get burnt. Sounds like a huge parasitic drain. Could be a Voltage Regulator., bad ground. Make sure all connections are tight. Could be a bad Alternator. Check for amperage draw with everything turned off.
