Yep, that's a Subaru! (more or less)
More specifically, it's a Fuji Heavy Industries Rabbit scooter, the rabbit scooter line lead up to the introduction of the subaru 360 - and if it weren't for these scooters, it's likely subaru would never have been imported. These were imported prior to the 1968 introduction of the subaru 360 to U.S. soil, the only reason subaru cars were imported is that Fuji decided to end scooter production - but Malcom Bricklin still needed something to sell - enter the Subaru 360 and FF-1.
