98 Eldo rear shocks and ELC

The 98 Eldo (4.6 L Northstar) we just bought appears to set a bit low in the rear end, since it supposedly has ELC (Electronic Level Control) I would assume it levels itself, one guy at the Caddy dealership said to have a couple people push down on the rear end to simulate a heavy load in the trunk, and the pump should activate to level itself. We did, no cigar. I didn't get any response from the car, or hear any air pump start up. I have checked for a fuse to ELC but don't see a fuse or anything for that component. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to check if the ELC is working properly or how to trouble shoot this animal?

Thanks!

This can be a tough diagnosis, if it did not level it is not working, your owners manual can point you to a fuse , if bad though something is wrong. You will need an oe shop manual or an online manual such as a subscription to alldata.com, or you will be wasting a lot of time and money guessing here.
