So up until now ive been doing constant oil changes until I had the finances to get my car in shape.
Im going to tackle the job, but have question.
Is there anything I should do while im down there in addition? I figured id do my TPS, O2 and IAT since my car has 127K on it. Ive already done a full tune up not to long ago. Is there anything I can do to get it as close to new as possible?

Are you going to use the gasket set made by DORMAN ? The set is made of metal and rubber instead of the usual junk chevy plastic.

Thermostat, oil pump gaskets (FEL-PRO 70194, 70800).

The oil pump drive uses an o ring for a seal, not a gasket.Replace the o ring for the oil pump drive,it dries up and will cause an oil leak.

I have had one TPS fail, and I have never had a IAT fail. O2 sensor why not but the others are a wasted expense.
Dorman makes a good gasket set and fel-pro also makes a metal rubber gasket set that we have been installing lately. I have no issues yet with either of these except they may potentially work to well!!!

An o-ring is a gasket, and there is also a paper gasket.

I deicded to go with the Fel-Pro kit that includes pretty much all the gaskets and rings I need. Havent heard much on the Dorman set although they look just as durable!

Felpro does make a metal and rubber gasket. It comes in a set with valve cover gaskets, upper intake gaskets, egr gaskets, thermostat seal, an o-ring for a heater pipe, and a tube of gasket maker. The part # is MS98004T. It costs a little more than the old plastic and rubber gasket set, but it comes with more and it's a much better design.

The dorman is more complete and uses Fel Pro gaskets in their kit.I have used the Dorman kit and hold up the saem as the fle Pro gaskets.I prefer the o ring over the paper gasket for the oil pump drive.Get another thing of rtv silicone, the kit does not come with enough of it
