Powder Coating?

I was wondering what its good for. Because I was thinking of maybe coating some stuff, perhaps my wheel covers or something. Anyone got any websites on how? Or old thread links?

wheel covers? WHY? the only way if would work is if they are metal, but it wouldnt be worth the money! powercoating is done professionaly, you cant do it yourself!!

Check around for prices where you live...its kinda expensive but not bad here...i was thinking about having some done on my hatch too....but it has to be metal to be powder coated...

it acutlly pretty cheap here I can get my rims done for about 35 each. Up to 15lbs of parts for 40 any color I want. just waiting for the money from auctions to get here....

the rims on my red 91 are powder coated. it was $65 per wheel.
part of the prosses of powder coating is baking the parts is an oven.
so wheel covers would melt, no good.

One of my friends works at a factory doing powder coating so im gonna get my GSR rims and valve cover powder coated for FREE :finger:

My neaghbor just got some Powder Coated GSR rims from Irvin.... They look sweet as hell! I wanted to get my whole car powder coated!

What size tire are those Melt? I have 195/50/15 on mine and those look like they have a lot bigger sidewall than mine do...it could just be the picture though

195/60/15 ... lol I used a tire size calculator earlier and compared to my 175/70/13's my speedo reads 5 mp/h too slow with the GSR's on.

Alright....with the 195/50/15 the speedo is just about right on...i think it might read like .1 slow but thats nothing.

I had thought about it... Expense and weaght came into factor.
