Reversing light failure

My wifes 1.5 Clio 11 seems to have a reversing light fault. The lights dont come on when reverse is engaged. The bulbs appear ok and there is no dedicated fuse. Any ideas please

on gearbox there is small connector . if it falls out reverse lights not work
