I have a 2000 Bravada with 89,000 miles on it. And DECELERATING from 50 mph to 10 mph my front end whines. The whining stops for a second when I tap on the gas pedal. But then starts whining again after letting off the gas.

Please help. I'm a poor college kid!!!

Welcome to the site.
Check the gear oil level in the front differential.
All 4 tires should be the same size with 34psi front & 32psi rear.
You need to make plans to drain the transfer case and refill it with the blue Autotrac II fluid to head off transfer case problems/damage.

Welcome to AF.
Have you checked the fluid level?

Here is a link to checking rear end noise.

As in this link.
http://www.differentials.com/diagnose.html

Whirring noise only while decelerating at any or all speeds is most likely caused by bad pinion bearings or loose pinion bearing preload, and almost never by bad ring and pinion gears.

Besides fluid level check the pinion yoke nut for being tight.

Let us know what you find.
