predator programmer

Finally had a programmer put on my truck. I went with a hand held, because I didn't really want to swap out my computer. I have an 06 with a 5.3, k/n FIPK and flowmaster exhaust. The max HP and TQ increase was about 10 on each. The main gains were in the 3.5 to 4.5 thousand rpm range. My biggest gain was 20 hp and 25 tq. The dyno didnt give any info below 3000 rpm so I dont know the actuall gains there. My advise if you get a programmer have it on a dyno or at least check your air fuel ratio. On the first run with the tune on the truck i was running way lean. Not to mention the tune that came with the predator pretty much did nonthing for my truck. It did nonthing for tq and like 5 for hp and through out the whole range on rpms there really was hardly any gains. All is good now and it runs like a champ after the dyno man changed the fuel and the firing. Finally getting that pin you in your seat feeling now. Now today I can't even go out and play with it cause its raining.

well went on 2500 mile trip. Gas mileage all over. If I got gas with no ethnol added. It raised my mileage about 2-3 mpg. If I got 10%ethnol gas which is all you can find in illinois it dropped it 2-3.

a nice trick the govement is pulling on us. add ethanol and tax the gas. you must use more fuel to go the same distance. i get charged sales tax on gas. so the more i use the more the state makes.

well i am glad NC doesn't use the 10% ethnol yet. It didnt really effect me that bad until i got the programmer. It straight killed it.
