cruse control

my cruse control wont lock in.Light comes on says it on but does not hold speed was working fine yesterday.Any ideas on this?:confused:

What year is your Taurus? Is your ABS light on by chance? I know some of the Taurii use the ABS wheel speed from one of the wheels as the vehicle speed input for the cruise. I wouldn't expect the cruise light to stay on if there was a wheel speed input issue, but I can't say that for sure.

Today does it work at all, or as soon as you press "Set Accel" and take your foot off the throttle does your car start to lose speed? How does the weather today compare with the weather yesterday (is it rainy, significantly colder, etc.)

bad servo motor.

The 95 and older models require vacuum. Is it getting vacuum? Is the cable to the throttle body connected, ok?
