Hello Juian,
I don't have any suggestion for the PE etc but you can't go wrong with any IWATA airbrush. Other choices are Badger or Paasche which are also very good airbrushes. I will suggest you to stay away from Aztek airbrushes as i have had bad experience with them.
I have also used Haarder & Steenback and found them very good.
Just buy one which have spares readily available.
Hope this helps.

I have the Revell Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and Ferrari F430 Coupe and have started the F430 with the body primed.
I have setup my workbench in the balcony of my 3 room apartment(wife doesn't allow anything inside because of our toddler) and currently it's not accesible because of the cold although it is closed but badly isolated. Therefore i am on hold with all my painting till the weather gets a bit better.
About the airbrush you may consider the Iwata Revolution or Eclipse series as i believe they come with a .5 nozzle. I myself have the Iwata Eclipse BCS and BS but can't comment how they are as i have not used them yet. Have no idea about the Tamiya as have never seen it let alone used it.

If you meen this :
http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/74523wide_airbrush/top.jpg
is something i want to buy two this year!
Tamiya recomands this AB for Car modeling :" Featuring a 0.5mm nozzle, this airbrush can be used to apply a wide range of paints, from acrylic to lacquer to enamel, and is especially suited for creating the glossy finish of car models."

I forgot to write the Tamiya ITEM nr. Item No:74523
Tamiya offers one almost identical AB ITEM no. 74510 and it is with a finer nozzle - 0,3 mm , so check if you get the right one!
Regarding Mr. Paint booth - yes, if you want to work fast and well, you need it. I don't own something like this, maybe in the future. I read about people who are drying the painted parts or car bodys in a food dehydrater!

Yeah, food dehydrator speed up the drying process so you can polish the body sooner than normal. I'm sure someone else will chime in to add more information. :)

Yes Tibi there are 2 tamiya AB one is 0.3 and the other 0.5. for fine detail i'd use the iwata hi-line but for bodies maybe i'd need a 0.5
anyone seen a good practical dehydrator in any web page?

For the R8, I'd suggest some carbon fiber decals to set off the engine bay.

The Tamiya HG is a great AB for its price, I would suggest also buying a larger paint cup for it though, the original 15cc cup tends not to be enough in certain applications. Tamiya sells transparent paint cups in sizes of 17 and 40 ccs. 17cc is #74511 and the 40cc is #74520. I now use transparent cups on all my ab's, they let you know if there is enough paint remaining in the cup... thus preventing spitting when the paint runs out.
Tamiya's and Gunze's air brushes are made by Iwata, so they are good quality items.
Personally, I find the atomization on the HG a little big (droplets are 'large'), but with a little practice this AB has served me very well...
HTH,
Steve

is the Hg easy to clean?

is the Hg easy to clean?
Pretty much the same as a 'pen type' ab with one difference... the needle is set so it comes off with the counter weight as 1 piece. I personally like to use a 'dental brush' similar to this one:
http://www.periproducts.co.uk/uploads/products/dental_brush.jpg
To clean the threads in my AB's... I use the same techniques on all my AB's ...
So, in a word: 'Yes'.
HTH,
Steve
PS: I've noticed that the MSRP on Tamiya US is really high... I got mine for around half the 268$ they state there...
