Got a chance to get a 98 Voyager with the 2.4 engine with a broken timing belt.
I have found one post that says it is a interference engine, if this is the case which I think it is how much damage is usually done to engine besides bent valves?? Does it normally take the bottom end out also??
The tranny supposedly was just rebuilt within the last 5,000 miles.
Anybody know what van would be worth if need to replace engine??
How feasible would installing a 3.8 be?
Thanks for any input

Not that they are the final word but, the Gates website timing belt listing shows a 98 2.4 ltr is not an interference engine. If you had a 2000-2004 with the 2.4 ltr then yes it is an interference engine.

if your going to change the engine the 3.3l is an easier swap than the 3.8 you will still hafta change the computer and the harness also i had a customer with a 99 2.4l voyager with a bad timing belt the head was fine just replace the water pump while its apart
