2002 Venture ABS AWD lights

My ABS and AWD lights are on in my '02 Venture. I took it to a shop that said I need a new ABS module, which is very expensive. Apparently when the ABS has a problem it automatically disables AWD.

Is there a way I can get the AWD operational without fixing the ABS?

No.

Like the TCS (Traction Control System) and ABS they work together so when one has a fault they both need attention at the same time.

i bet if you look real close at the wires to the abs on the front wheels you will find a broken wire that's the problem on the driver or pass front wheel . reach up on the rear side of the brake caliper thats where the abs wire is pluged in and 9 times out of 10 one of the 2 wires will be broken or cracked plastic coating on the wires apx 8" back from the plug. i have fixed both L & R on my olds van in the last year. cold winters are not kind to those wires. i jacked up and blocked the van unlocked the wire harness and pulled it out to the front of the tire with the wheel turned. i was able to skin back the hard inner wire cover and use a but splice and a shrink tube over and then wraped splice tape & scotch 88 electrical tape on last. then placed the auto plastic rap on and reinstalled it. this took me apx 1 hour per side to repair it.

My drivers front ABS gave me trouble a few months ago, but it wasn't broken wires. I had to replace the sensor (This includes the complete wheel hub) 2000 Silo)

I'm not sure you need to rebuild the ABS pump. The OBD11 codes only showed a fault in the ABS system?

An ABS module replacement was suggested by a tech? If so, perhaps try one from a recycler before buying new as most electrical parts are not returnable.

You're getting past my knowledge base now. I'm mechanically inclined, but not a tech.

The shop told me a used unit would cost me $400, so I was hoping to find another solution. But then I found one for $75 including shipping. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Thanks!
