Have you checked the fluid level and condition in both the transmission and transfer case?
The transmission uses a dipstick for this, but the transfer case has a fill plug that you must unscrew from the case itself.

Yes i did a few days ago and they are the levels are both fine and the fluid is almost new

you shifted the trany in to neutral before you tried to shift in to low range right?
i would try a trany filter change and check the cables that run from the throttle body to the transmission.

I have some success in shifting into low range with the vehicle stopped (engine running) and the trans in 'Park' Usually it will slip into low range with no noise at all. If it doesn't, drive forward a foot or so and try again.
