96 continental mis-fire

Hi,
I have a 96 continental. It was mis-firing so I took it to Auto Zone where they put on the ODB-2 tester. It said I had a misfire on number 8 cylinder.
When I took out the plug it was definitely fouled. It had oil on it. I also noticed that I have been going down oil but there is not blue smoke coming out theexhaust. I looked at the plug in cylinder 7 and that was fine.

I put in a new plug and it seems fine for now.

Any ideas?

how long has it been since you tuned it up? like plug wires and of course plugs? way it sounds it may be in the coil pack also.

Hi,
Well it seems like the number 7 cylinder keeps fouling. The plug soleniod is black with what looks like oil. I replaced the plug and it happens again in a few days. There is spark to the plug wire. Could this be the valvue cover gasket.
