I have just had my fuel pump and tank replaced. The fuel injectors and intake cleaned. also fuel filter replaced all this done costing over 1000. I get it back and it ran fine for about a week then it started losing power. Was driving and it would just start dropping. I can pull over and let it rest and it will start back up and run for 5 minutes and then start losing power again. I had the code but cant remember waht it was but I looked it up and it said it was an oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1. Well my husband changed one sensor but its still doing the same and hes unsure about which sensor is which. What Im wondering is will a bad sensor make the truck run like that and so its possible my husband changed the wrong one? or is there something else that could be wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Best if you could get the code read again and post the code no.

Bank 1, Sensor 1 is the driver side of engine, sensor 1 is the oxygen sensor before the cat convertor on the exhaust pipe.

I would also test the fuel pressure. Tape a tester to the mirror or windshield wpier and drive vehicle and watch what the fuel pressure does when power is lost.

What brand fuel pump was installed.

The code was p0131. I dont know what brand the pump was. Im thinking the garage gave us a used one. Cause I know he put a used tank on it. And that is the correct sensor my husband changed.

I agree with tempfixit, start with the fuel pressure, especially under driving conditions.
Other possibilities are a vacuum leak or bad MAF sensor.

ok just had autozone check codes and they got the following codes = p0135,p0134 they suggested i change my other sensor.

Codes do not say replace sensors
Only AZ free scanner test say replace 02 sensors.:lol2:
You may have a wiring problem on bank 1 sensor.
Check wiring and plug in and 02 heater circuit and heater circuit fuze.

But
As said check that fuel pressure first thing.

The only true test on a fuel pump is to check the direct fuel pressure from fuel pump.
A quick test is to block off the return line and see if fuel pressure comes up to 75-85 lbs.
But do not run the pump at full pressure very long.
Also when testing fuel pump and pressure you need to tape a gauge to outside windshield or outside mirror and drive it on the road for 20 -30 minutes
until the pump gets has run a while to check for a pump fading out after hot.

Hard to start cold and fuel pressure testing guide line.
Check cold start fuel pressure.
Check engine running fuel pressure.
Check engine running on the road fuel pressure.
Then shut it off and watch for fast leak down.
Pinch off at rubber part or block off return line and check full pressure.
If pump has full pressure with return line blocked and low pressure without it blocked most usually the fuel pressure regulator is leaking or not holding pressure.
Later V6 and V8 gm engines should have 60-66 fuel pressure.
Cold start should be 64-65 lbs of pressure.
If you do not have full fuel pressure on a cold start the injectors will not squirt fuel.
Do not leave home without it.
Engine running should be 60-66 lbs pressure depending on engine load.
Full pressure with return pinched off should be 75-85 or more.
And if it has a fast leak down after shut off you have a leak in system.
Post back fuel pressure readings.
