Cup Holders

Is it just me or does the 90 civic DX not have any cup holders etc?

Since I don't smoke I was thinking of taking out the ash tray/lighter part of the dash and putting in some type of cup/can holder. Has anyone done anything similar?

buy a 94-01 ACURA INTEGRA (GS LS RS GSR TYPE-R or JDM) they all will work Ami's web page has a install on the HOW-TO section u will be MUCH happier with one of those than doing some stupid cup holder that u can buy for like $3 at wal-mart

yea i would go with a cup hold mod, i bought some type s crap, i got the cell phone holder, im just tired of having it now.

yeah it would be nice to have the integra console w/ armrest... but it's usually expensive... and for the amount of times that you actually use a cup holder, it may not be worth it.. i settled for the type s cupholder, and it's good enough for me. only used it once in 3 months time.

what does the type-s clip/hold onto?

I finally went out and bought a Type-S cup holder today but it didn't fit too well on the left hand vent and I didn't want to put it on the center one cause it covers up the clock.

Anyhow I decided to ghetto rig it to the ash tray.

I cut a piece of wood, stained it red and then screwed the Type-S into it. I then screwed some metal bracket things (they are actually from vertical blinds..) into the wood and then it just clips onto the ashtray.

Whenever I'm not using it I can just unclip it and throw it under the seat.

Not the best way to do things but I got it done with what I had around the house and it works like a charm.

Anyhow... :)

Are Teg consoles 1 piece or 2 ? In your pic it looks like 2 dif. pieces. Would i only need to get the bottom piece of teggy if so ?

teg console will not fit the CRX and it is two pieces, here is a better pic where it is sectioned:

here is another pic, its portioned right where the eBrake handle is.... i bet u can see where it is......

I just use the space between the ebrake and the seat...works great:smoka:

yeah that was te only thing missing in the standard civics is a nice cup holder...


I got one in the soop but ne never really use it lol..

can i sum how cut it down to fit?? has anyone ever done it before? and would it just be a waste of time all i really want is the armrest...........thanks

For CRX's, the only way ur gonna have an armrest, you will have to get the Optional Armrest that is made for our cars, and you wont have cupholdsrs though, you can see my cupholders right under the cig lighter, you push it and it pops out! its great! :)

I catually would rather still have my stock console, the space between the ebrake handle and seat would hold large cups, unlike the teg console. And no fair, mine don't spring, you have to pull and push it on your own, damn it im lazy.

Miine holds drinks from Taco Bell and since thats my favorite place to get food from, its perfect!! :)

hahahaha....i'm not representin' the Type-S.... i just minipulated the Emer. Brake into a cup holder, i just stick the drink in between the down Emer Brake Handle, and the Pass. Seat....hey it works....

that is manipulating nothing. I could put a large drink on both sides of my e-brake when i didn't have the teg console, easy

I used to wedge my drinks between the center console, the passenger seat, and the passenger seat-belt thingy, but when I got my Corbeau seats, I couldn't do that anymore, so I don't have anywhere to put drinks anymore.

I'm making one out of aluminum stock though, so I'll try and post pics of it fairly soon...
