99 Turn Signal

Hi,

I just joined here because I was looking for info about this same problem, except it is with my front left turn signal on a 99 Century. The running light part of the bulb works just fine, but when I signal left, the light stays on solid instead of flashing. If anyone has any info on this problem, I'd really appreciate the help.

Since the flasher works with the right turn signals you can rule that out. It sounds like a bad multifunction switch (turn signal stalk) or related wiring.

It is possible. Is it both front and rear left signals acting up?

The front turn signal sockets are a known issue on these cars too. It's possible that the connection for the high watt element is bad/melted, or the wiring to it. Here's a link to a picture of the part from AC-Delco's website

Don't rule out a bad bulb either (as the bulb has two elements, one for the running lights, and one for the turn signals), but normally a burnt bulb will cause rapid flashing rather than no flashing on this model car.

I have a little more information about the light. The running light does not come on unless the headlights are on. The passenger side bulb works just as it should (on whether headlights are on or off and flashes normally). The rear left turn signal works normally, except it flashes fast due to the front left bulb not flashing. I know its not the bulb because it has done this with multiple bulbs. When this was my parent's car, new bulbs would flash normally for a few days before going out. Now when I put a new bulb in, there is no flashing at all.

Since the rear bulb is flashing fast and changing the buld no longer helps (but used to), your problem is almost 100% the socket the bulb plugs into or the wiring to it.
