Project Manitoulin Revisited

I attempted this image a couple years ago and was quite happy with what i did. The problem is i started with it at too low a resolution and at the end, with intricate detail i found it was hard as hell to continue and make parts of it sparkle. So I have rescanned the image and am working it all over at higher resolution. I am also using some new techniques i have learned over the years. Including Illustrator. If you click here (http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/Manitoulin_Super_Truckprogress_tn4.jpg) you can see the older image i attempted using just Photoshop.
Well, here is the start of the revisiting..hope it works out.. I had great fun the first time....

I recall that earlier project of yours.

Manitoulin is still a pretty big outfit in Northern Ontario and its namesake, Manitoulin Island, is very much a favourite place of ours!

Good luck with this one, we'll be keeping an eye out for you.

Is this a gas tanker and a box transport truck all in one? I've never seen one. Is this something Canada really has? Definately don't have this is West Virginia. Then again, we don't have much of anything. :icon16:

Yep we got them--We pass one going up the 400 late Friday nights when we go back home to visit or see it south bound in the other lane.
A real head turner!

I'm watching the drawing to!

Manitoulin is pretty much the only company even in Canada that uses these trucks. They haul product way up north and wanting to haul maximum payload and make less trips they came up with these trucks. Although they are apparently starting to shy away from them though due to limitations and lack of practical uses. They are only legal in Ontario, and are not easily used for day to day trucks. Only one use for these things, and they are realizing it is not worth the cost of upkeep. They also have a few SuperTrucks that have a 10-12' box (or a drome) on the truck, and then the trailer for added cargo. Really something to see though..
