Well, I don't really know where to start.

I don't know a whole lot about cars to tell you the truth.
However, I am eager to learn. Not knowingly, I picked up a hidden gem a few years ago for my first car. A 1998 Dodge Neon R/T.
I looked around for a bit and saw that I could make it into a pretty nice machine. I've always loved driving fast. I love that rush that you get, where your heart turns cold and you can't feel your feet pressing on the pedal.
You know what I mean. I don't want my car to look like a trash heap like it does now. I'm willing to invest money into it and make it my own. I want to drive around and have people say wow.
There are a bunch of ricers around here though. In fact, just the other day one started harassing me while I was in my mother's Saab 93 Aero.
I slapped it into manual and trashed him.
What can I do to learn more about cars, parts, how to get my car looking nice, and things like that?
I'd really like to know.
Thanks.

best place is howstuffworks.com iirc. it will explain pretty much how every system works independently.
most importantly, the nut behind the wheel controls how fast the car can go around turns.
personally, id get into autox. just meeting people there and asking for help and how things work will help you more than just asking questions online.

I thought you picked up a hidden gem? (Guess I'm not that tired afterall)

What is it with all the poetic writting jumping on here all of the sudden? Son, if you ever feel like you describe when you drive, pull over. That sounds like cardiac arrest. You may be dying.

With a 98 Neon, you have one hell of a job in front of you.

I was gonna get a 9-3 Aero...decent little car. Lack of aftermarket is ass though. Damn Sweedes.

Learn more about your car/parts/etc.? Find a vehicle specific forum. I only know of one user around here with a Neon that isn't rice, and he never posts anymore. However, I'm sure all the Neon owners have a nice little cave somewhere where they all gather together like most vehicle specific owners have.
How to make it look better? Looks are objective. You want my ideas on how to make it look better? Sell it and get something else.
Otherwise, Google is your friend. Use it. Learn it. Most powerful tool on the internet it is. Biggest tool on AF.com, I am.
