First, this is a Jeff Gordon model, just incase we have known problems:
Well, I just wanted to know if anyone else had these issues, and what they are, before I go digging through everything.
1) My front cigarette lighter has never worked, and I'm not sure if it would be a fuse, or what, so I am temporarily using a 15ft extension from the back lighter to power my radar detector.
2) 2 lights are out in the console, the one that lights up the driver temp control, and the one that lights up the auto tune and auto vol buttons.
Last night, I had a fun one, the car just wouldn't start, no messages, no even trying to turn over, almost seemed like the battery. I waited about 15mins, prayed, and held the key trying to turn over when I heard a weird pop noise, and the car starts fine now. No lights are lit up as far as battery, or check engine, battery gauge was not going up when I revved though, it only stayed still, and went down when I put a lot of accessories on. Now, she seems normal again, hoping nothing major, fluids are good, battery never goes below half, everything seems fine.:banghead:

Welcome to the world of GM electrical issues!
Your lighter issue sounds like mine. Found the connection inside the console was bad. The lights are probably bad connections too.
I also have a weird starting electrical phantom and it stopped by yesterday as a matter of fact. What happens is I turn the key and everything comes on like normal but the engine does not turn over. One time it was the first thing in the morning and the other two happened after the first short drive of the day.
In each case my battery connection was bad. The terminals are clean and tight but for some reason I just disconnect and reconnect and everything is fine.
I have become very experienced with electrical problems over the past few years. It all starts with a multimeter and a good set of wire diagrams. I can help you if you’re determined to fix it yourself.
I have a 2002 SS.
