The only way i have found to find excessive battery drain is start pulling fuses. If you hook a ammeter in series with the battery (usually between the negative battery post and cable) wait a few minutes for the computer to go to sleep and then pull fuses one at a time and watch for a drop in the reading on the meter. Its kinda time consuming but it works. If you have recently added the car alarm and/or jvc deck i would unhook it and see what happens.

yah i got myself a multi meter the other day. i was just hoping someone else ran into this problem and knew what was shorting or whatnot. so i can test that fuse. but i will try that. what should the meter be reading? thanks
