98 Astro - Air Bag Light - is it a pulled fuse?

Was looking at a '98 Astro to purchase.
I noticed the airbag light was on.
The vendor said he pulled the fuse 'cause he didn't like the bags.
Would the light still go on if the fuse was pulled?
If so, what else is on the fuse that won't work?

Fuse 10 (SIR) only serves the SIR system. Everything else should work, but the SDM (inflatable restraint diagnostic module) will report an error if a part of the system is without power. This warning is required to notify the driver that the SIR system is inactive or compromised.

Installation of the fuse and clearing the codes with a SIR-capable diagnostic scanner should solve the problem. IIRC, If the dealer is within the U.S. he/she cannot sell the vehicle without disclosing the reason for the warning lamp. That may apply in the Great White North, too, but I'm not certain of that. Call your provincial DMV to verify that. In any event, any reputable dealer would simply install a fuse and eliminate the problem. Perhaps there is something else going on that the dealer is not disclosing. I'd be a bit wary.

Thanks for the info, BB.
BTW, it's a private sale, so as long as it passes safety, the guy can sell it without disclosing anything. It's up to me to do the digging.
Thanks for the word of caution ... I will be careful and make sure my own mechanic sees it before proceeding.
