Rear Park Aid

The rear park Aid on my 2001 doesn't do anything except one red light comes on when I put it in reverse. It stopped working suddenly. I've checked it visually and took off the bumper skin and checked the harness for continuity. The switch in the overhead console is on. Does anyone have a diagnostic procedure?
