New Spindles

I'm in the midst of replacing my front spindles. I had the old one's magnafluxed, and there were cracks on the top and bottom of the snount. Time for new Coleman units.
While installing I was trying figure out the best starting geometry for the spindle. My thought was that the upright member should be vertical and the snout (where the bearing assembly attaches) horizontal.
Is this a correct assumption that the upright portion of the spindle should be vertical? Does it matter?
I am going to set ride height and then have the front end aligned. This will change the geometry some to get camber, caster and toe set to spec. So maybe starting position of the spindle doesn't really matter. Probably making a mountain out of a mole hill. Wouldn't be the first time.

You are correct. The alignment will take care of all that. Just to make it easy to drive on and off the trailer, set the spindle to horizontal, the upright between vertical and 5 degrees back at the top, and the toe at about 0". Just don't take it for a spin around the block before getting it aligned. :lol2:

The Coleman PN for the assembled unit is 19975.
The snout has the numbers 809 102 stamped on it, and it's called an "Impala" by Coleman. The upright is an 8" member, although it measures 7 3/4" tall and has 4 tapped holes and 2 through holes.
