This Lindberg Bugatti Royale reissue was built for Scale Auto review; it's in the February '09 issue.

The model is pretty decent, the instructions are awful. Assembly was a challenge with such poor instruction photos without usable diagrams, and most of the pins/receivers had holes that were about half the size needed. That said, take your time and you'll have a nice model.

Color scheme inspired by a Veyron, I wasn't wild about the car's current off-white w/dark green accents or the original black w/yellow accents. Even though I had a bear of a time assembling it, I love how it looks finished. I think the 1:1 car would be stunning in this color combo

The color combo really suits that car nicely. Clean assembly w/o flaws. Just a shame that the wipers are molded on the window frame *sigh*

What a jewel, beautiful model of a beautiful car. This should be in a museum.

Thanks for the replies! It was definitely worth building from the outcome, just had to fight it a bit along the way. This is one of those cases where my vision for the finished model was pretty much exactly how it came out; it's not always easy to envision an unknown color scheme on a subject especially on a one-off car like this. Going to concours d'elegance shows every year pays off when I build the occasional classic

Exellent work. What colors did you use?

Thanks! Main body Tamiya pure white (all exterior stuff decanted/airbrushed); fenders Tamiya gloss aluminum & clear, top/trunk Tamiya fine light gray primer w/a coat of Tamiya semigloss clear to give it a sheen, interior painted like maroon leather.

Hi Bob, i like very much how your modelcars are painted. Please tell me, if is not a secret, which type of Airbrush you use for painting the body's? Single or double action airbrush and nozzel diameter is 0,3 or 0,5 mm? Which type is better for this painting?
