I seem to have a coolant problem. It's been doing this for sometime. I drove the car to work today about 6min away, came to the parking lot and noticed smoke white steam coming from my hood. I noticed the gauges read perfectly fine. So i popped the hood and noticed coolant around the bottom of the overflow tank area. The low coolant light will come on. If you check the coolant level in the engine it's perfectly fine. It never overheats or anything. I came home tonight and noticed smoke from primarly the area where the coolant tanks at. Theres two rubber hoses on top of the coolant tank one leads to the engine where does the other lead to. Thanks

the other hose is the overflow hose it drains under the car, u should check ur coolant cap and make sure the coolant isnt boiling in the engine causing it to overflow and land on some hot stuff in ur engine bay.

Yeah when i went to pop the hood after i noticed the smoke, the coolant cap on the overflow tank had worked itself off while i was driving . But the low coolant light has been on too. and theres like a black tank under the overflow bottole what is it. It has like a little tube that sticks out of it and my friend said thats where the other hose goes.

well the low coolant light is the sensor in the overflow bottle. that black tank is the evap canister. the other hose dosent go to that, the evap deals with gas vapors from the gas tank. check ur coolant cap on the engine, not the over flow bc it may not be sealing properly alowing to much coolant to get into the over then draining then when the engine needs that extra coolant back it sucks it back up and then u get ur low level light. i say get a new rad. cap from autozone they are cheap so just try that and add more coolant and go from there. good luck
