Hi All,
My 2005 Bonneville's service engine soon light is on. I think my wife left the gas cap loose when she filled the tank. What is the best process to use to get the light off if this is indeed the problem?

Thanks,
Vic

Take it to Advanced or Auto Zone and have it scanned. Write down the DTC's & post back. BTW, tell them to delete the DTC's if they will. If it was only a loose gas cap, you should have no further problems.

Also, if it was simple a loose gas cap causing the "gas cap" code causing the SES/CEL light it will probably clear after a few drive cycles or when the PCM module tests the evaporative emissions system providing the loose gas cap was the real issue.

Thanks for the inputs. The problem turned out to be a bad gas cap.
