Car Alarms

I'm just wondering how many of you guys have alarms on your cars? I don't see anyone wanting to steal a 90' civic, but then again I haven't poured tons of money into it (yet ;))

Let me put it to you this way. Do I have an alarm yes. Can you walk with in 2 feet of my car with out it tellin you whats up NO.LOL :D

Do you know if most alarms these days will shut off automatically after a certain amout of time?

I used to take the train into work and when some of the high speed ones would pass by, some of the cars in the parking lot would have their alarms go off and I could just see it goin off all day long until the battery was dead.

Thats what nice about some of the car alarms, some come with little pager's that will display or vibrate when the alarm is going off, some even tell what part of the car it came from ie: hood, trunk, doors you get the idea.

I have a viper 280HF in mine... main reason i got it was for remote door locks. hehe

get an alarm they will fuck with it, mine been brokem into twice so far oh and on thursday i wake up to a beautifully shot through window :mad: i was so pissed, it didnt shatter though because the tint held it together, i dont have enemies i dunno wassup:bloated:

Yeah, someone tried to steal my car 2 weeks ago. But it's not really about that, it's more likely that someone will just steal the stereo or something, in wich case the alarm is still valuable, even if they don't try to steal the whole car.

My old alarm, some Clifford model, fried my ignition switch, and wouldn't allow me to start the car once I replaced the switch, and it had me baffled for 3 damn months, so I removed it and the car started right up :rolleyes: Plus, two days ago, someone shattered the passenger-side mirror housing somehow...

Anyways, got an Audiovox APS-996 installed yesterday, and it kicks many forms of ass. I wrote a little bit about it in this thread:
