I'm trying to replace the u-joints in the front shaft had to heat them up to remove them. Now i noticed the slip yoke when putting the new u-joint in that it seem both sides where the u-joint caps go are bent in a little bit and i can't believe i did it with a little heat but now i can't get the clips in to hold the u-joint in. Is this correct or is it bent. I didn't pay any attention before taking it apart. Any help would be great.

if the yoke is bent this is the problem, clips won't go in....what you can do is use a bolt and with a nut/washer place between the yokes and use the bolt to bend the yokes back.use some heat to assist...
when the U joint is removed you need to properly support the yoke so that when hitting the U joint out you do not bend the yoke...
this is a common fix...if you use care you will not get a vibration...

I use a small propane torch then support the ear securely then drive out the U joint so it will not bend ,,but like yours it does happen sometimes..
good luck.
