Adding 6 disc changer on a 06?

My wife picked up a sweet 06 SEL last month and we love the car!!! Its loaded pretty well, but we want to add the 6 disc changer. Where does it mount in the car? Some say the consol, some the trunk??? Anyone install one?? How hard is it? Is the car prewired?? Thanks for any help!
