Diagnostic tools

I have a 1995 F150 and a 1988 Ram D100 and I want to buy a diagnostic tool, but every thing I've looked @ is for 1996 newer. Is there any tool out there that can read my trucks?

Those are OBD1 pre 96. Those vehicles require different scan tools depending on how much you spend. Mainly the plugs are differnent. Cheap ones like these , http://www.actron.com/product_category.php?id=249,(which like Autozone sells) you'll need to buy 2 scanners. More expensive brands,ie snap-on, OTC, etc.. you'll be able to just buy different cables for it. Try harbor freight.com
I don't know about the Ford, but the Dodge you can turn the key like this, on/off/on/off/on and the engine lite will flash. Like 1 flash short pause then 2 flashes(which would be 12) ,then a longer pause then 5 flashes then 5 more flashes(which would be 55). Once you have those #'s you can search online or post them here and someone will help you.
