Huge Wiper Problem!

I have a 2004 pontiac sunfire. The other day driving in the rain my passenger side wiper stopped working. Once it stopped raining i went out to look at it and it was verry loose and free, I could move it myself. So I thought it just needed tightening but the nut was very tight. So i then removed the black cover and I noticed rod that connects the wipers to the wiper motor wasn't attached anymore. I tried to see if a nut came off but there isn't a bolt or a nut that connects it. Is there anyway to fix this? You can see a picture of the problem here http://www.2carpros.com/forum/here-vp435762.html#435762 (http://www.2carpros.com/forum/here-vp435762.html#435762). Thanks for the help because i need it!

I just looked at my spare in the basement, and it appears to be a ball and socket design. It should be able to pop it back into its socket. If not, your going to need a whole new assembly.

Go to a PNP and snag one from any J 95-05.

yeah i thought that too and i tried to pop it back in but it is not snug at all... I am guessing the ball point has worn down and the socket end just fell off... Thanks for the help man... any ideas as if it is easy to fix or not? i guess I would have to get the whole assembly like you said and i'm thinking it bolts onto the wiper motor?

looking at the pic you could just drill and bolt with a nylon lock nut so that it does not come off, use washers and other hard ware to make it happen
