02 3Series Tail Light Fix Kit.?.

Hi the tail light on my 02 325i had a short on the connector and bulb housing. I recently purchased a repair kit for this problem from the dealer and have no clue on how to wire it in to fix it. Anyone go through this before? Any pointers? Im def not paying the dealer $200 to fix this

There is a known problem with tail light wiring. The problem is with the ground wire connector, it simply can't take the current draw.

The easiest way to fix this is to reroute the ground. I spliced a new wire before the connector and ran it directly to the ground on the tail light. Bypass he connector entirely. Use a splice tap instead of tape.

yes ,there is a new contact assembly avialiable,at times the bulbs melt the plastic housing and circuit board that they bulbs sit in ,its a definite fix ,well this is a bmw ,not a ford,sometimes you do have to pay for other peoples knowledge and experience ,if this not good enough,buy a ford

I would have thought they fixed at the factory it by now.
