emissons failed HELP!

ok well i have a 97 eagle talon with a 420a under the hood. At first i bought the car the check engin light doesn't work (stupid me not lookin:banghead: ) come to find out i have sevral problems.
1 random mis fire
2 map sensor high input
3 o2 sensor (bottom one) bad
4 air intake temp. high input
5 no cat
6 when the car warms up it will try and over heat
ok well i have replaced the map sensor and put a cat on the car. but still gettin the misfire. havent done the o2 sensor yet. i flushed the cooling system out and yet it stll trys to get hot (not as bad though).Last scan the o2 and misfire was still there. the plugs and wires look to be in good shape and the coil pack seems to be new. i have no clue :runaround: what else to do i'm about to give up. also one more thing i drove it to a buddys house about 6 miles away one day hard in it and when i got there it was smokin on the back side of the motor a couldnt tell where though. only thing i can think of would be the intake and head gasket. the jacka$$ that sold the car to me sold me everything was good no problems. And the head gasket was replaced sometime recent. please any light on this would be so much help thanks

Try changing the plugs and wires.

You said that she tries to over heat, have you tried replacing the Thermostat? When you flushed the coolant did you see any oil in the antifreeze? Deffinetly get some new plugs and wires, go w/ NGK plugs. Replace that O2 sensor, it's needs to be done either way, so there's no reason to wait. Get that stuff fixed then I would look into this smoking issue. Do you think the smoke is from the motor or from possibly a bad pipe connection at the CAT? Does the exhaust sound loud? or do you have an exhaust leak? Another thing, what color is the smoke? Does it smell sweet? Check the obvious first then see what else you come up w/.

well there was no oil in the water when i flushed it and i changed the themostat when i done that. the smoke was white smelt like oil but i couldnt tell from where. ill change the plugs and wires when i can i was goin to today but i went out and started my other car (93 eclipse) and it was missin and back firing so come to find out i had to chang its plugs and wires today now im short on cash till payday. i will try it though and let you kno whats up from there thanks for your input
