Winter Builds

Anyone doing any builds over the winter here? I know a lot of us use the cars as DDs, but anyone have anything planned that they're going to be working on?

The only build that's going on right now for me is the amount of snow my car is buried under. My major thing is to try to get the car then keep it running all winter. So far that's failed. I also have a block that I'm picking up one of these days and I may... MAY start that build.

Only thing I have to do is fix my sisters car. Its an 02 Montero and last night some fuker in a work truck had a latter hanging off the side of his truck and it was hangin in the opposing lane and hit my sisters car. Broke the windshield, driver window, dented the door frame and chipped a lot of paint off the roof. Luckily the windows were tinted so the driver window didn't shatter all over my dad. No one got hurt which is the main thing but now Im having to fix the paint on it. Deductable is 1k so its not worth taking it to the shop. I will get some pics of it soon.

At least you have a garage. I have a single car spot on my property with no roof or anything. The motor is going to be in the shed... no light, heat, and low ceiling (and bugs in the summertime)

When I get my taxes late January, I really want to get Link, FMIC, 255FP, and some bigger injectors. I can't stop thinking about it to be honest, wish I had the stuff right now.

Well since I finally got my ignition problem fixed on the eclipse (crank sensor), I can start back modding. I'm not doing anything else to the car as far as performance, I'm just trying to get it running perfect.
Hopefully soon I will have:
Fuel lab FPR
My eprom swapped in and eventually Linked
And thats basically it

Been working on my civic alot, not really doing anything major to it, just messing around.
Been doing audio work to it for the past few days. Put in 2 competition pioneer 12's, a 4400 watt(yes true 4400) MA audio amp, and 2 yellow top batterys. Its crucial.

I'm my only winter build. After tacking on almost all the weight I've ever lost this summer, I've lost 30 lbs since the beginning of fall semester and am aiming to be <190 by the end of January... about 15 lbs to lose in the next ~ 40 days. I do miss the Talon though, I think about it a lot.

imn kinday fucked up right now but my winter build involves fixing my idle and figuring out why my oil light faded in and out.

Thor i remember riding in your car and being jealous of how smooth your car was at idle! i would trade my dick for it.

nope theres nothing to install. Just the ecu swap and basic tuning.

Pardon my ignorance but the "ecu swap" you mean the chips right? Also, my ECU has to be a EPROM too correct?

dont break the pins when you push the chip in. that's about all you need to worry about.

yea for the 1g eproms all you gotta do is swap the chip. For mine I had a 97 ecu so I actually had to swap the whole ecu but yea for you.

Yes it must be an eprom and you have to open it up to see.

I'll give it the tear down and rebuild again to see whats going on with it. If round two flops like round one did... Well... I donno what I'll do at that point. Probably swap in a stock motor/bolt on's and tranny and sell it as a running car and then part out all the built stuff... That is, if round two flops...

Its his TSI AWD that he's been working on since the dawn of time. Last thing I heard about it was a 75mm TB and a SMIM... I just hope he finishes soon so I can hear about it. Ya spent so much damn time and money on that stupid ass RS Garrett, you coulda had this beast done a long time ago! ;)

I hear that. I haven't had a radio for a month now and it sucks. I end up playing music that's on my phone (smartphone) and that's pretty gay.

In less then a month I will be buying my old Civic Sedan back off the guy I sold it to. So that will be my winter project. He striped the whole interior, so theres nothing but drivers and passenger seat and seat belts. He installed a CRX dash, but didn't install the heater ducts so theres no heat. LOL

I no its a Honduh, but it was the first family car me and my wife bought when she got pregnat. So its got memorys. Plus Im not going to Rice, Rice it out. ;)
