Hello Everyone on automotive forums, I woke up to a surprise this christmas eve. Looking forward to driving to my aunt and uncle's house about 200 miles away i get a kick in the butt. There is a hole in my driverside quarter window and the rest is spider webbed. The window is still in the car, so im thinking about putting clear tape over it so it doesn't fall in or out during winter. I looked up a few quotes online and they say $400-$500!! I mean geeze how hard are these things to replace. Is there a good way to get one out of a junkyard car and install it for less than $500? There are many to choose from at the self serve junk yard near me, but if they are all gonna break whats the point of trying. Are their any window techs around that could give me a few tips? According to the service manual there are nine nuts that hold the quarter windows in place. You have to remove the interior trim panel to get to them. The glass includes the outside moulding which is why it costs so much. You will need new weatherstripping from a glass dealer or the Ford pn listed is 29904. Good luck and Happy New Year!
