Some one don't like me

coming home from work this afternoon I entered the top end of my road (gravel road) and around one of the corners only to have a tyre roll of the rim and send the car out of control. The car went sideways on the gravel over a small ditch (still sideways) through a small pine tree (still sideways) and came to a halt up against a concrete fence post.
damage to the car so far looks minor and I am fine.
The part where it gets a bit suspect is after dragging it out from its resting place, and putting on the space saver to get me home, I took it to get the tyres checked. The tyre that rolled off of the rim (right rear) had a metal rod (similar in size to a nail, but not a nail) INSIDE the tyre. The rear tyre on the otherside had an almost identical metal rod through that aswell.
So now I am concerned that someone is out to get me (seems too unlikely to get 2 almost identical punctures in both rear tyres)
trye off rim (http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL60/944371/1850761/21998884.jpg) luckily there was no extra damage to the tyres so I don't have to buy new ones immediately (they all need replacing though)

side damage (http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL60/944371/1850761/21998892.jpg) note the green sap left from the poor tree
covered in dust (http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL60/944371/1850761/21998880.jpg)
the car only got back from getting fixed up about 2 weeks ago:mad:

Doesn't sound like a good situation to be in, my friend. Any clues? No psychotic jilted-lovers :D
I'd be EXTRA careful from now on.
Hope all resolves...

If it was on a public road, why assume it's directed at you? got a pic of the items that punctured your tyres?Any accident sucks, particularly when you are not to blame.Losing a tyre on a gravel road is a particularly nasty experience, but I'd be looking at all the options before calling it a deliberate act of sabotage.

If you're concerned that it might be deliberate Simon it may help to go to the Police and have a chat with them.
Glad to hear you're okay though.

Glad it wasn't your brakelines cut. If you find them, give them a kick in the sack for me too, I hate assholes like that.
