98 Rodeo 3.2 4x4 code p405 help!!

I have a 98 rodeo 3.2 4x4 and I am getting a check engine light.code is p405 egr flow sensor A circuit low input.I have cleaned egr and I have taken egr valve off and cleaned the vacum port with valvoline carb and choke cleaner while the engine was running.I went and I had the codes cleared and check engine light still comes on.Any suggestions.

I'd pop off the throttle body as well as the EGR valve. That will give you access to the the other end of the EGR pipe that runs through the intake manifold. Look at the FAQ for a picture of this. You can hook up a hose to it so that the solvent/carbon build-up doesn't run into the engine plus you can be sure that the pipe isn't clogged.

This code refers to the control valve for the EGR valve. It's an electric solenoid that the ECM uses to open and close the EGR valve. Either that control valve is bad or the wiring leading to it has a problem.
If you had a problem with the EGR valve being plugged or the passage being plugged, you'd get a different code.
If you had a problem with the EGR valve being plugged or the passage being plugged, you'd get a different code.

Thanks, looks like I am going to have to replace the Egr valve

Probably. This is where a high end scan tool would come in handy. With that EGR valve, you could command it to open and see the effects. I think you could even see and control how much it opens. I would actually take my chances with a used one. Most pull-yourself wrecking yards will refund your money if the parts doesn't work.

If you go used from a salvage yard, there are several GM vehicles that use the same EGR valve. They might have the plug in a little different position but otherwise are the same.
