Hood lock?

When my hood is closed I am able to pull the hood up. It is still locked in place by the lever but when I am driving on the highway I can hear it pop up. I am afraid the whole thing is going to fly open. I don't know why it started doing this all of a sudden. Is it an issue with the release cable? And do they sell replacement parts for that?

Could be the cable is not returning or the lock is typically rusted as we have here in the NE , check it out no way to really tell from here.

The PNW is good with the rusting issue also.
