2001 Gran Prix GT 3800, Now we are driving down the road, the car jerks tach quits, and trac off light comes on. You can turn the car off, and restart it tach works trac light goes off . Strange. Anyone had this problem?

Sounds like it might be the crankshaft position sensor.

It's a trifecta. I agree with the first two posters, that you need a new crank position sensor as your symptoms are classic indicators that it's bad.

"Trifecta" that's a word I've never seen before. I Quafecta these suggestions. Rich, I made up this word. :grinyes:
I had the same symptoms as the O.P. a few years back, replaced my CPS and has been smooth running ever since.

could be your PCM terminals i have same kinda problem. The PCM is responsible for CPS/s and others

Where is the PCM located?

Someone had posted that my problem may not be the cps, but may be my PCM terminals. Can someone tell me where it is located.

Your latest post has been consolidated with the prior post which is based on the same issue and where you asked the same question.
To answer your question the PCM module is located in the air box assembly. Same place where the air filter is located. You will have to open the air box up. Once open you will see the PCM.
The PCM will have two 80 pin electrical connectors via the main engine wiring harness.
