4.3l vortec???

I just bought a '90 toyota with a 4.3l vortec in it, or so I think. I know nothing about the vortecs. Is there any way that I can get the numbers off the block and find out what vehicle it came out of.

Can you take a pic of the engine. Depending on the style of intake and some other markings I might be able to narrow it down for you. I will pm you my email in case you are not able to post the pic. It would be best to post the pic on here in case somebody recognizes the engine as being stolen out of their truck :)
