Has anyone built this kit?

Have a look at the link...

It's an Arii kit, and I'm not really familiar with the brand. Are they any good? Dodgy...?
Is the kit itself a dog, or something reasonably workable?

I know the Revell version of this car isn't all that great, but I just don't know how the Arii brand compares.

Any assistance appreciated.
Cheers all,

Don't bother.

In general the Japanese simply do not do American car kits anywhere near as good as Revell will do them.

Those old '70's and '80's Japanese kits aren't great to begin with, but the American cars are pretty bad. Most are designed to be motorized, many have generic interiors/chassis, and very questionable styling and proportion.

Don't let nice boxart or "made in Japan" fool you.

As stated this kit is probably crap. Here is a link to the contents...

Actually that and the '80 Corvette kit from that manufacture are not that bad. No engine detail but full interiors. I think that the Revell on is a touch better but that kit can be built into a half decent replica.

I built the Trans Am in the same series over 20 years ago. The body is nice and it fits together well, but the interior is simplified and the chassis is what you'd expect for a motorized kit.

I think it's a toss-up with the Revell Basic Builder Camaro. The body and the clear parts are probably better in the Arii kit, while the Revell kit gives you a somewhat better interior and some very basic engine parts.

If you plan on doing it curbside I'd actually go for the Arii.

Well I believe the wheels/rims aren't quite right in the Revell kit, so perhaps just buy both and make a hybrid of all the best parts.

Thanks for the reponses guys.

EDIT: except I just realised each kit is a slightly different scale... so they're probably not completely compatible. Doh.

Both kits should be 1/24.
