More Heating issues

Hey everyone,

As some of you might remember I recently replaced the water pump, fan clutch and thermostat(195 degree) in my 99 Ram 1500. This solved the problem of not getting the engine up to temp and having zero heat. Since doing this the engine warms up as normal but seems to stay at about 170, whether I am driving or at idle.
The problem is that I only get decent heat on the the 2 low fan settings(in defrost mode). If I go to the 3rd or 4th fan speed position it blows harder but gets cooler. The cab never gets hot, it stays lukewarm, and it is MUCH better then before, but I know I should be getting more heat. The system was flushed recently, I am not losing any coolant, and I checked the heater core hoses today, both are hot when the engine is warm. I am at a loss here. It's been below 20 degrees lately and I am desperate to get more heat out of my truck. Thanks again to everyone who has helped.

Has your temperature gauge ever shown 195F?

I'm pretty sure that's where it ran most of the summer(195), unfortunately, I didn't pay real close attention(other than to make sure its was in the proper range-less than 210) until this happened. The heat is warm enough when driving and in the first and second fan speed positions, but falls off significantly when I turn it up to the 3rd or 4th position.

Thanks!

Leo
