Been stuck doing this for a few months now. Came across many problems (mainly paint related :banghead:) and set backs but I'm finally able to say this is finished. One of the most solid Tamiya kits I've built, in that the quality is top notch...but also one of the most frustrating I've built.

Originally planned to do the matt black version that's been floating around the web but decided on just doing white instead. Enough talk...photo time.

First time using flocking material and love it!

Went with the colour coded 'aero kit' after seeing it in "Redline" magazine, which is essentially just the stock bumper in matching body colour :tongue:. Wheels have been smoked.

I love how it also lights up the intercooler...

Micro switch hidden in engine bay...

I kept the engine detail minimal as I'm not going to display this one with the hood open. This was more a learning experience and challenge to light up my first model. I'm glad this has the opening hood otherwise I wouldn't know where I could put the switch for easy access.

Hopefully I can post up some photos of this with my mini-diorama I'm in the process of making. Let me know what you guys think :smile:.

Very cool, don't see many cars lit up on here. Good work :)

@ NissanSkylineGTR98:
Thanks a lot. Was a bit of an effort grinding down the LED's I had (trying to fit 5mm into 3mm) but once they were glued in, it really isn't that hard to do. I'm definitely going to light up some of my future projects :smile: Just need to work on my photography I think.

@janositamas:
Thank you very much. I was trying to go for a mean look...the lights help a lot, heh.

@xpeed:
I'm glad I managed to finish before you, lol. Looking forward to seeing updates on your thread.

Hello again everyone.

Hope it's ok to post back in this completed thread, but I've been working on a mini-diorama and it's so far, quite bleak. Just a really simple roadside scenario. I'd like to show you all what I've done so far and try to get some inputs for ideas to make it better :smile:

The street light is 90%. I'm having difficulty trying to make a suitable 'cover' for the LED.

"Guess-timated" the height.

Hopefully the curb height looks ok.

Overall layout so far

I'm planning to add guard railing to the pavement. Any other ideas?

Looks great! How about adding either a rubbish bin or perhaps a parking meter?
