While driving my rodeo it shut off and would not start since. It cranks but does not start. after i let the key go it continues to crank. Had starter checked, and it was good. Was told it might be vehicle immobolizer. has any one had this problem?

  They are made to try to start even after you release the key. Have you checked your gas and filter? Are you getting a check engine light? If so get the code read. Andie:smile:

What about the starter relay?

That sounds like fuel pump, timing belt, or immobilizer on an alarm system to me.

None of the above should cause that. Bad ignition switch, or sticking starter maybe.

Possibly a bad ignition switch could cause both, but not sure.

That just happened to me too.

It turned out to be the fuel pump.

My fuse kept popping out and then I had to get out of the car to put in new fuse for another 10 miles or so.
