Will a CRX guage cluster fit in the civics? I am pretty sure they will if they are the same years EX: I have a 91 civic DX and I think I can get one for about $45 out of a 90-91 CRX. This will work Right?
Thanks for your help

I dunno if the CRX one will fit, it all depends on the plugs in the back. also if u find a wagovan, u can get a cluster from that, they work too

they are different. You can rewire the cluster so that it will work. As for if it is just plug and play. the answer is no.

rewqireing isnt that hard really...

just trace the path of each connection in the back of the clusters as to where they go to and make note of them.
do it for each and then compare.
you may find many of them to be the same.

just to correct the last posting a 88-89 civic/crx gauge cluster is THE SAME, will plug&play with NO SWAPPING.

90-91 civic/crx gauge cluster is THE SAME, will plug&play with NO SWAPPING.

i have a 90 crx dash swap with 91 CRX cluster and it worked 100% fine...

We have a conflict of opinion. 3 people said it would not fit and 1 said it would......Which one is it?

Oh, how exactly would I rewire the CRX cluster for my civic if they are not the same excact plug and play?

Information would be great!

Thanks

I had an 88 CRX cluster i was trying to put in my 91 Civic and i noticed some slight differences in mounting, but nothing that woudl keep it from bolting up. It didnt work, however, becasue it was from an 88-89 and my car is a 90-91. This was before it was common knowledge. It was funny, though, to start the car up and have the seatbelt light be the cruise contol light and other weird glitches.

it will work, just make sure you get the cluster that corresponds to your model of car, year wise.

CRX and civic gauge clusters are exchangeable, I have a CRX cluster in my civic. The only difference that you have to watch is the yrs. If you put a 88-89 cluster in a 90-91 car, you will have to rewire, if not, its plug n play. That works both ways. Trust me, I have done this in my car. I did rewire it, wasn't really that hard. www.geocities.com/twisted91civic/ go there, i have a how-to if you need to rewire it. The only draw back on doing this, the gauge will bolt up in 2 bolt holes, but it won't fit in the cover right. See 88-89 interiors were smaller than the 90-91 interiors.
