I own a 98 eclipse and have been working on it for a while now. I did the 6 bolt swap but keep the 2G head. i have 550cc injectors, a walbro 255 fuel pump, a tuned header, 16 G turbo running 8 psi boost, FMIC, and fuel pressure regulator set at 43 psi> my problem is that my egt going down the high way or through town will go to 800 farenheit with no boost. when I boost the temp go to 1400 but it seems like there is no pull from the turbo at all. i dont have a wide band o2 sensor yet and no after market computer. they r coming soon. any help with my problem would be greatly apreciated:eek7:

So your not leaning the car out any for those bigger injectors? Your running SUPER rich and that why you probably feel hardly any power. As far as the EGTs I run around 900F at idle, 1200F in town, 1350-1400F on interstate and up to 1650F on boost if I do a long pull. Try not to let them get over 1600F and you wont melt anything.

EGT used to be the way to go...now, a wideband is much more trusted. Get a logger and a WB02 before you mod further.

Rich? how do I lean the car out with out getting an engine light on the dash seems it comes on when im at about 33 psi on fuel. i did a fuel pressure calculation on the computer last night and the formula was 43X(450/550)2 i came out with about 63 psi with my set up should i run with more fuel? i have been fighting this for some time now and do appreciate you help

Turbo cars have rising rate regulators. At idle, base FP should be 43.5 with the vacuum hose removed and plugged.
I strongly suggest a wideband and logger.

ive pegged well over 1400 in my gst on the highway. nothing to worry about. dynoed in 3ed it hit almost 1600... 25psi... just makesure your a/f is right, i wouldnt worry too much about the egt.
