Another one I had a lot of fun with, and a lot of creative control. This was inspired by a popular Austin Healey from Hot Rod Magazine:

But with a twist of course, since it's a Corvair. The colour is Jeep Red Rock Pearl, with gray interior and seats and steering wheel from a Fujimi Evo. Seatbelts are PE latches with masking tape. Wheels are from the AMT kit, slotted kidney bean wheels, 14" scale. The roof was removed from the kit, smoothed, and the windshield was cut down with a bandsaw into a "speedster" style.
The big fabrication came in the engine cover, with flying butresses flowing up to the rollbars much like a modern Ferrari convertible. The engine placement was moved from the rear to a mid-engine configuration, so that the Pontiac 4.1 L SOHC Inline Six would fit, with the transmission, with stock axle location. Engine was detailed with wires, and I just realized while taking the pics that I haven't installed the rad hoses from the rear-mounted rad yet! So that's why those are missing.
I also need to apply some BMF to the front bumperettes, and I got some super glue on them and made a mess. :loser:

I really like the subject matter and how you went about making this car.
